Wythenshawe Amateurs vs Irlam Rangers
6 8
After last weeks great performance, this week was totally the opposite.
Wythenshawe started well, and within 10 minutes they were 3-1 up thanks to some fine finishing from Marsh. As the game went on, it was Irlam who created the chances, and before half time the Ammies found themselves 4-3 down. Fortunately for Wythenshawe, an own goal made both teams level at half time. As the second half started, both teams created chances, but it was Irlam who finished off their opportunities. This was not expected, after last weeks performance against the same opposition. We need to learn from today's game, and hopefully change our attitude ready for next weeks game against Broadheath.

Wythenshawe Ams u11s Stretford Vics
Score: 10 - 1
A good performance was required after last weeks defeat to FC Sporting Sale.
In the first half Wythenshawe had most of the possesion, creating good chances. The home side didnt really create much, and it was not long before Wythenshawe took the lead with a well taken goal from Marsh. The Ammies then went further ahead with a second goal from Marsh, and then just before half time Marsh completed his hat trick with a very good header. Shortly after the interval, Stretford scored with a fine effort from their substitute. This was short lived as the Ammies then ran in another 7 goals.
The goals came from Armstrong 2, Mansfield 2, Corrie 1,Marsh 4,Crowther 1
This was a much needed confidence booster ahead of next weeks game against Altrincham Juniors.
WELL DONE TO ALL THE PLAYERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wythenshawe Amateurs u11s vs. Broadheath Central u11s
Score: 7 - 0
This was the first league game of the season, and Wythenshawe couldn’t have asked for a better start. Wythenshawe started really brightly, dominating the game for long periods. After some excellent passing the first goal came after only 10 minutes, and from there Wythenshawe took control. At half time the score was 5 – 0, this could have been more but for some fine saves from the Broadheath keeper. In the second half the amateurs made some changes, and continued to create chance after chance. This was a great start, and we must build on this for next week’s game against Ashton on Mersey.
Goal scorers ---- Armstrong 1, Crowther 1, Marsh 2, Welsby 2, Roberts 1.

Wythenshawe Amateurs Tigers 2 Fletcher Moss 0
The Amateurs made a few changes to the starting line up for this game. The game was a scrappy affair, both teams not playing well, and the chances were few and far between. After the first 15 minutes both teams needed to improve. Wythenshawe made a few changes but still not a lot of quality football was played. With the score still at nil nil, the last ten minutes of the game saw the Ammies take the lead with a penalty from Ross, the Tigers then got a quick second with a strong run from Jasper who finished in style. The Ammies could have increased the lead further, but the chances would just not go in.
With only 3 league games left to play, it is likely that we will finish in third spot, but we have got a semi-final to look forward to against Ashton on Mersey at home on the 5th April.

Wythenshawe Amateurs Tigers 5 Stretford Vics 2
This was potentially a tough and physical game, but the Tigers produced some great football, which gave the opposition no chance of it becoming that type of game. The conditions were not ideal, but the Ammies took an early lead with some nice play which led to a excellent finish from Jasper. The amateurs were kicking against the wind in the first fifteen and still totally dominated the game. The Ammies went further ahead with goals from Jake, Filip this then left Stretford with a mountain to climb as the game went into the last 15 minutes the Ammies were now 5 - 0 up this was after another great strike from Ross. The opposition put the Tigers under pressure for the last few minutes, and managed to pull 2 goals back. This was an excellent performance from all players, this type of performance and attitude must be taken into the remainder of games

Saturday 5th December 07
Wythenshawe Amateurs 1 Urmston Vipers 2
This was a disappointing result for the Ammies especially after beating Wilmslow in the last game before Christmas. Wythenshawe got off to a great start with a fine goal from Mansfield. The game was always going to be a close encounter, and Wythenshawe got punished for some sloppy marking with the Vipers equalising. The away team only had one player who was likely to cause Wythenshawe any problems, and yet again we did not get to grips with his style of play, and in the final 10 minutes he scored his second goal of the game. The Ammies kept on pushing for the equaliser, and should have scored when Lee had a chance to score, only to put his effort wide. This weeks game against South Manchester will be another tough one as they are second in the league. Wythenshawe have lost their captain (Armstrong ) for the next few weeks due to a fractured wrist which he did in training, this will be a massive blow, but hopefully we can keep the pressure on the teams above us.

Wythenshawe Amateurs 6 NJ Wythenshawe 1
After last weeks nil nil draw this was a much needed confidence booster. Last weeks game should have been a convincing win , but we squandered at least seven really good chances.
This week was a different performance, we started off brightly scoring within a few minutes, a shot from the right saw the keeper fumble into his own net. Wythenshawe Amateurs dominated the game from then on , but some poor defending from a corner saw NJ get the equaliser. The Ammies then scored freely with some fine finishing from Armstrong, Crowther, Mansfield, Marsh. The Amateurs should have scored more but the chances were not taken. Crowther should have had an hatrick, and Armstrong could have completed his hatrick but the finishing was not clinical enough. The defending from the Ammies was excellent for most of the game, and this resulted in NJ only having very few chances. The Amateurs have no game for the next two weeks, the next match is against Wilmslow who are unbeaten this season, this should be a very close encounter.

Wythenshawe Amateurs Tigers 3 v Stretford Vics 2
This was another close contest with both teams playing some really nice football. The Amateurs got off to a great start with Armstrong cutting in from the right to fire in a low shot in to the bottom right hand corner. The game was always going to be a close affair, both teams going close to scoring on regular occasions. Wythenshawe got the second goal they required with a fine solo effort from Mansfield, beating three players down the right wing and then firing in a great shot which left the keeper with no chance. Wythenshawe then looked like they had control of the game, but two goals in the space of a few minutes saw Stretford get right back in the game. With only a few minutes left, Burns made a run down the wing and put in a great cross which Lee converted superbly. The Tigers held on for a well deserved victory.

Wythenshawe Ams Tigers 3 v South Manchester JFC 1
Ammies finally got their first victory of the season in a closely contested game. The Amateurs took the lead with a nice move which saw Crowther putting in a good cross from the left side, this resulted in Armstrong finishing in great style with a volley. The game was really close, both teams creating chances and with some fine saves from Williams in the Amateurs goal, this kept the score at 1-0. It took another break from the Ammies to increase their lead further, when young Gibson gave chase only to beat the keeper to the ball and put the home team 2-0 up. The Amateurs were under pressure and it finally told when South Mcr pulled a goal back. The game was in the balance, and again some excellent saves from Williams kept the home team in the game, until a break down the left saw Burns put in a cross, only for the keeper to palm the ball into the path of Mansfield who finished in good style. Wythenshawe claimed the 3 points, and now need to build on this result for next weeks game.

Saturday 8th September 07
Wythenshawe Ams Tigers 1 v Wilmslow 2 (u10s)
The first league game of the season in Division 2 was not the result we wanted. We started really well taking the lead with some nice passing which led to Jasper getting the ball outside the box and hitting a left foot shot in to the top corner. Wythenshawe then won a penalty, but unfortunately Jasper put his penalty wide. Amateurs then let Wilmslow back in to the game, and the home side equalised with the help of some poor defending. The game was in the balance and a long range shot from a Wilmslow player caught the Amateurs keeper Rhys off his line and the home side took the lead. Wythenshawe kept on battling, going really close on a couple of occasions with the hard work from Rik who hit the post after beating four defenders. Wilmslow battled hard to earn the victory. This was not a good performance from the Amateurs, and if we are to push for promotion we need to improve on this showing.
