We played a game with only 10 Players today and I have to say what a great performance by us, It was a good clean game as always with Stockport, Respect shown be shown to Chris their Manager who I have to say is so professional in her attitude to the game and Daniel their coach who not only is a fair guy seems to get on with his approach to training, game plan etc....and his girls respond !.
Just like us !??. Joking. I have no worries over us has a team, we have a laugh and a good game and you all have your funny ways, Rachael ! hahhahaha top girl. Dionne, she does it with emotion. My Kat, even though you was tired after staying up most of the nite still did a great job, I love you girl, Me step-daughter, is it a bird, is it a plane....NO its leah ! sometimes just amazing, each and everyone of you have a good way about you and I may miss all this in the new season, are we to carry on in to open age.?
Them that are serious about carrying on next season need to let me know by email: ianreid19@yahoo.com I will do what is required for the team as always, but this may be for a future date after the games we need to play, I would like to know what we are to do for the future tournaments please, I would like to receive your thoughts on this please, What are we going to do............. ?????????
On this new site I have seemed to miss the two ladies from the report, a bit remiss of me really. Over the years we have had two Ladies who week in and week out turn up and give their support, today when we got a bit hot these two ladies said we need to get the ice lollies. One of these Ladies went to collect from the local shop. No moaning, no comment to make just gets on with it for the girls that they both love. I would like to thank these two ladies for what they do and the stick they receive from me !??!. i know i don't have to mention them here because everyone knows them in the team but just for the record & them out side of the team..........................
Wythenshawe Amateurs FC would like to thank Debbie & Melanie for their support, I personally would like to say not only do they do what they do without a moan, regret, comment ................they receive not stop comments from me and take it on the chin !.

We played a game mid-week and with only 8 Players, we could have pulled off a shock defeat here but our fitness level let us down, we had a good clean game and respect should be shown to the Deans for their professional conduct, tonite was a tough game and both sides shown a professional attitude to the game and each other. I have notice over the last couple weeks that our new player "Genelle" as shown great talent and when she settles will be a great asset to the team. She even gave Goalie a go with me asking, and shown not only is she a good defender but as a talent for goal aswel. Usual respect to our players, Dionne for defence and team leading, Leah for none stop defending, genelle as above, Aimee for outstanding crosses to the box, Roxy, for running her heart out to get that special one in the net !, all players really who on a good day (nite) could really white wash any in this league. See ya Saturday 12.30pm against Stockport County.

Today we were let down by some players, we only had nine players and we are going to find it really hard with this number and no goalie !. I think we put up a good game and just could not finish correctly, so many chances and just missing that last touch for the net. Lets hope we can get it together soon. We just need to talk and pass the ball and we could be so much better even with nine. Great play from the new girl "Genelle", put herself forward for net first half and played some great football second half. We are now on a rota for net and you will have a go in net, it is not fair for the same ones to put up there hand. I will be looking for some friendly because we have a few gaps in the league fixtures.

I have to mention the goalie situation again, we need one and its the same story over and over again, You need to volunteer for this position because it is not fair that the same girl's come forward each week. Although today Rachael came forward in the second half and to be honest I think she done a great job, one save she did was outstanding and I wondered how she done it.
We are always going to get punished if we stand still and watch, but today i think we got caught cold in the first ten minutes as we always do and we are 2 - 0 down, we get the warm up and we kick into gear and at half time we are 4 - 3 down and looking good. We hold our own and it only the last 20 minutes that we lose our concentration and we let 2 silly goals in.
We play Poynton at ours in two weeks time and we should sort our problem out !

Our 2nd game of the year, still a bit rusty but we was getting it together, they had a few lucky goal's with our apprentice goalie, Don't worry Aphra, we think you did a great job for your first time in goal, someone else's turn next week. The only goal I thought they deserved today was the header from the corner, that was a good one and I even cheered that one home, I know that the goalie situation is letting the team down, I have tried to recruit a new one but no one has turned up. I will keep trying and we hope to get there soon. Today was a great performance by you all and I do need to mention those who stood out from previous performances........Steph, properly your best game ever, I would like to say that it was not only me who seen it, but Steve and the Parents seen it too, keep the good work up. Leah, I have to say that I have never seen you run that fast ever !, a new land speed record. It was a sert that they was going to score, their player was squaring it up to score and ........was it a plane, was it a bird .....no it was LEAH !!, where did you come from ?. Roxy 2 goal's outstanding. On a better day we would have won, no goalie, Gemma B poorly, Leah with bad foot (although you would not believe it). We did not get in full flow, so we go to Poynton next week at their's and we hope to pull off the score we deserve. Our "KAT" played well, she put together a good few passes and had a shot on goal aswel, we had fun today and we seemed to enjoy the game, two Yellow cards within the game, Holly, we know it hard when your attacked so often because you are such a good defender, we need to grit our teeth and move away, we was let off today from a fine and a load of paperwork. I know it not your fault but keep it under wraps. Second game of the year and we are looking good, a positive attitude to future games can see them as winners

Today was our first game of 2010 and we have had no training this year because of the weather, We came today with only eight players and the league say we have to play with this number, Unfortunately we let a few silly mistakes let them have the first couple of goals. We had some great play with the number we had and a couple of shots on goal, with players missing there was a lot of holes in the field and we have to work hard. The second half was better and they only scored one goal in this half. We had fun with that dog !. Can someone else chase it next time, I know I look great for a 44 year old but remember i am suppose to be the boss.
We need to make sure that all players turn up to games, today the team had to work three times as hard against one of the top of the table. Next week we are against Hillgate at home and I expect all the players to turn up and not let the rest of us down.

Today you shown what we have been saying for the last couple of months, When you put your mind to you can beat any in this league. We started the first half with 10 players and you shown that you had it from that moment and when Gemma turn up you turned up the game and within minutes you was scoring goals. The score should have been more, Dionne how many times did it pass the goal just wide or just over. Two great goals from Roxy and so many nearly in. We got a bit silly in the last 15 minutes and we let one in, I think this was due to the distraction of bickering, Wythenshawe Amateurs do not get into these situations. If someone does this to you, you ignore it, you are better than that and you should not lower yourself in class.
Could we ask friends at school if they would like to be our Goalie. We need one and today we had Leah 1st half and Amy B in the second and both did a great job.

Our performance does not show correct when you look at the score card. We played good in the first half and they got the lead, we came out for the second and they was worried. How many shots on goal did we have?. the combination of Dionne, Kat, Gemma, Aimee P, Roxy in mid & up front was outstanding. Like I have said for the last couple of weeks we just have bad luck. We can play better than some in this league yet we seem not to just pull it off at the end. I am sure it will change soon. Keep your heads up because it come. Take notice of the positions today and we can work on that.

First today we have to thank Stockport County not only playing to a very high level but for their professional attitude to a great game of football, today my faith was restored in the game, over the last months with one thing and another i was starting to think that it was all getting really messy and i was not looking forward to attending certain games. I really look forward to January when we play them again.
Today WAG's you put in a great performance and we could not ask anymore of you, our luck has got to change soon, I just don't know what to say to you, everything was right today and we could not get them in the net, i counted three times it hitting the post. Gemma's free kick was outstanding and was only just headed by their Clare, Who we gave Player of the Match.

I know the goalie problem is causing some players to go in net and they could do more for the team if they were out of net. I will be posting a flyer for a goalie and you will see it in the wythenshawe world aswel, Could we all ask friends and mates at School if they want to give football goalie a go with Wythenshawe Amateurs ?. In the meantime will see you on Tuesday at training.

I feel that we have bad luck at the moment, the last few games we just don't seem to finish, I get really frustrated and start shouting, "Sorry" I get carried away. We was under a lot of weather today and feel this put us off our stride. We have one or two important games coming up and I know we have a Goalie problem (all season really), Hannah tries her best but has other commitments and can not always attend. I will look into this and meanwhile I would like to thank Leah our ball bouncing hero (gloves head gloves today) and Dionne for stepping forward to sort the problem, these things don't go unnoticed maybe some other players should take notice....... Aimee P got the POM and I recalled in the cab on the way home, I said that Amy B had it last time so Aimee P gets it this time, that is a mistake and sounded second rate, Sorry Aimee you are never second rate and those crosses/corners were outstanding. What I was trying to say was it was a close call from the Parents vote.

Well what can I say about today, A few things really. I feel has players you was let down by the system which is in place, You was under abuse from the side line and working against a referee. Funny really that we received a poem in the week which I posted on the main page of the club about how you (& other teams) are children and what confusion you are under, I know some of you will say that you are not a child, remember that I am 43 ( I look 23 ) and you are still young girl's to me. You came to a game today and put your faith into a game, the adults around you and unfortunately you was let down by most in the park. Under no circumstances should any adult be calling you a "Muppet" or should other players be calling you a "K**bhead , We at Wythenshawe Amateurs try to promote fair play and fun and today this was taken away from you. I am sorry if you feel that we let you down in anyway. I will be looking into this and will report back to you. I marked the referee a 4 and will be reporting back to the league on what i feel was a one sided approach to the game. We can not take anything away from Keith at Hillgate, he does a very good job at his club and is very dedicated to his approach, unfortunately he is let down by members / parents of their club.
You were the better team without doubt, you out played them and conduct was above the par to the end, I could not pick a POM at the end because you were all outstanding. I am sorry that I got emotional at the end but I feel as the Manager and a Parent you should not be exposed to this conduct, especially after the top performance that you put in.

We should be happy with today's performance and I thought and I know Denton did that we had them worried at half time, If we had put the performance from last week into this game today we would have beat them. We seem to still drop our heads when the score goes against us and I know its easy for us on the line shouting. We could see you did not want to listen, turning round and blaming others for them not doing what you wanted is not the answer, Listen to Steve or Me on the line and things may be a bit different. We are against Hillgate next week at theirs, so see ya tuesday night and lets see if we can correct what we are doing.

5th Game of the season and i enjoyed it very much, We played pretty good today in bad conditions and only with 11 players, its hard with no subs and you are tired and the rain the second half made us slow down but we got through it. The score should have been 3 - 1 for us, their second was a bit of luck with kicking it out of Hannah's hands. We had so many shots on goal that I thought it should have said 7 - 1. Lets hope this is our turning point. Some great play today down the side with Gemma, Aimee, Katie and Roxy was sure to score and she did, Well Done to everyone of you. Hannah great second half in net, outstanding !. If you put your mind to it you can do anything.
Steph reckoned she played bad, this was not true you saved us a good few times and keep it up girl and we will see your name on the score card !

4th Game of the season and today you should be very happy with yourselves, to put in a performance like that with only 9 players needs a round of applause. I was really happy with you all today, Poynton have improved under the Management of Kathy and their number 9 and 10 are their top players. We fell foul of the long ball and unfortunately we don't have the pace at the back, this will be corrected over next couple of weeks and we can put some points on that board. We are away next to Deans Sports and if you play anything like today, its points on the board.

One or two comments have been made to me about some of the things said on the pitch and off including Steve and myself, anything that is said on the line and on the pitch falls at my feet, please could you voice your thoughts / remarks to me and I will correct what is wrong. I can only fix something if i know its broken. In Steve's and my defence if we have said anything that has thrown you of your performance we apologise, things are often said in the heat of a game and you may have taken them the wrong way. We try to get you back on your game because we know how great you can play when you are paying attention to the game.

I try my best to get the right game out of the girls, if any think I or Steve has said anything out of line please bring it to mine or Steve's attention.
I am sure I have it right with the above statement to the girls.

3rd game of the season and with no goalie, i could see that we are back to the way we should be playing. Today was a great performance from you all. Poynton got a lucky goal (they may see it different) and we so many chances we should have been 3 - 1 on my count. But it was not to be. The score is not important here, what is; is that you listened and took on board what me and Steve have said from the beginning of the season. If you come with a positive attitude then you could win all games hand's down. Never under estimate your ability.

Second game of the season and we did not play half as good as we did last week, Some of us are tired and been up late and it shows, one or two could not even be bothered to chase the ball. Once Denton scored I seen our heads go down, you need to talk and not walk, I feel that this is not fair for the ones who want to really play and you are letting them down. You could be so good and better than any in this league if you all turned up ready for it.

Our first game of the season and the result should have been better, We all played great and I can see the team getting back to the way we was, we have some good players on this team and if we all worked and talked together we would win more games. We hope to sort the goalie problem in the next few weeks with the help of some new players.

Dionne of old was the goalie for most of yesterday and the penalty shot on her, it was an outstanding save Dionne, you should feel proud.
